Nucleic Acid Testing

NAT using pooled blood samples is now experimentally used for the detection of virologic failure during antiretroviral therapy (ART) when the quantitative information of viral load assays is incorporated in the testing algorithm. This web-based utility will assist in the Minipool and Matrix algorithms.

The Measurement Enhanced Pooling Assay Calculator (MEPAC) was made with the main purpose of assisting laboratory technicians in constituting and resolving each individual and pooled experiments. Technicians can record results of individual and pooled NAT assays, track results and turnaround time of results for each method and technician, and calculate theaccuracy and efficiency for each experiment.
